We are looking for a Chief Strategy Officer who is strong in both strategy and execution with proven success delivering cross-functional, technical programs efficiently and on-time. At Dove Air, we envision the CSO as not only the glue that will hold cross-functional teams together but also as an empowered decision-making function, driving us forward to achieve our ambitious mission of providing every human on Earth with instant access to vital medical supplies.

We are looking to hire a driven CSO to identify and execute growth opportunities in our company. The CSO will drive government and stakeholder engagement. The CSO will evaluate market forecast and long-term trends, collect competitive intelligence, drive cross-functional business processes, and maintain business model innovation. You will synchronize strategies with corporate center plans. You will interpret long-term plans into short-term projects.

  • To ensure success you will have a clear understanding of your role, be focused on planning, growth, and business model innovation objectives, and display sound judgment on which markets to target. Top candidates will have excellent listening and people skills, and be proactive. 
  • Dove Air operates the world’s only large scale national-scale drone delivery systems in Mozambique and DRC, sending urgent medicines like lifesaving blood and vaccines to those in need, no matter where they live. We’re at the forefront of a revolution, designing, manufacturing, and operating our fleet of autonomous doves to provide every human on Earth with instant access to vital medical supplies.
  • The strategy team is the front-line, working with our public and private stakeholders to integrate the Dove Air pharmaceutical delivery solutions with the existing supply chain in a new market. As a member of the Dove Air’s executive team, you will own:
  • Requirements Analysis – Conduct research, define requirements, and interface internally and with external stakeholders to support (1) the development of systems integration processes and (2) the build of systems integration technology.
  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance – Ensure that Dove Air’s pharmaceutical-related processes and operations meet regulatory requirements. 
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management – Build and maintain relationships, and develop communication mechanisms with key stakeholders on Dove Air’s performance and impact.
  • Continuous Growth – Identify opportunities to expand Dove Air’s reach within the public/private healthcare systems and pharmaceutical supply chains.

 The role will require frequent and long periods of travel.

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Must have experience navigating a large organization and engaging multiple stakeholder groups with varying levels of pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Must have experience implementing technical and complex projects with public and private stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
  • Know rules, regulations, and standard practices surrounding medical/pharmacy practices, pharmaceutical supply chain, and patient safety.
  • Have deep and practical knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chains.
  • Ability to think and communicate with a systems perspective.
  • Be a strong visual, written & verbal communicator with experience working on proposals, reports, SOPs, and presentations.
  • Be able to turn data points into compelling user insights and stories that you communicate simply and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset and can fully own the projects you are working on.
  • Have a high aptitude for learning/growing technical skills.
  • Developing an inclusive strategic plan and strategy by collaborating with the leadership team, board, and executive.
  • Collaborating with CFO to develop a capital plan in line with the strategy.
  • Analyzing market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.
  • Identifying key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Identifying strategic risks.
  • Collaborating with leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies.
  • Communicating strategy effectively throughout the company.
  • Ensuring suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress.
  • Monitoring execution of business initiatives.
  • Executing divestments and divestiture.

 Key Requirements

  • Advanced degree in marketing or business development
  • 3+ years of strategic experience in a similar environment, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Available to travel.

  • Collaborating with leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies.
  • Discovers ways to increase revenue by eliminating wasteful practices and expediting product delivery.
  • Leads and supports management in the application and implementation of new policies and procedures.
